About
Carla Fletcher is a celebrated contemporary Australian Artist.
Weaving colour and patterns with realism, abstraction, paper, canvas, plant medicine, textiles, sculpture, technology, modern and ancient dreamings …
In addition to her fine art degree Fletcher studied under one of Australia’s prominent plastic surgeons, observing and sketching human anatomy during major face lift and surgical operations. A visceral study of the human form inspired by Renaissance Masters such as Leonardo Da Vinci who would dissect human bodies to improve their technical drawing skills.
A pivotal heart opening experience post fine art degree was a trip to Central Australia with her father to create new work. They sketched, painted, and walked through the outback desert connecting with the Milky Way Galaxy, ancient indigenous sacred sites and the wild free spirit of the land. Fletcher returned from that journey deeply connected to her path as an Artist.
A connection that awakened her artistic evolution into the mystic realms of mother earth, dreamtime and Spirit.
Fletcher has had continuous solo exhibitions in Australia and has been represented in various national group shows with work held within extensive private and corporate collections across Australia, Asia, Europe and the USA.
Graduating with Distinction from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with a Bachelor of Fine Art majoring in Drawing.
